UCCELLO HEADLINES OCAA MEN'S SOCCER AWARDS

TORONTO - Humber College's Luca Uccello (Markham) is the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Men's Soccer Player of the Year. Uccello received the award in a ceremony held in Toronto on Thursday.

The fifth-year midfielder was the co-leader on the Hawks with 10 goals in 10 regular season matches, as Humber ran the table with a 10-0 unblemished record and the West Division championship. Uccello was a model of consistency, scoring in seven of 10 matches. Uccello received other honours as well, including Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Canadian and West Division League First-Team All-Star.

The East Division Player of the Year is Atif Ali (Kenya) of Seneca College. Mackie is also the West Division Coach of the Year.

Angus Wong of Algonquin College is the East Division Coach of the Year. After a two-year hiatus for the Algonquin men's soccer program as a result of the pandemic, the Wolves roared out of the gates in 2022, winning five of their first six matches.
