NIAGARA COLLEGE SET TO HOST THREE OCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 2022-23

The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) returns to Niagara College for Championships in 2022-2023.

Following the OCAA annual general meetings in Kingston, Ont., Niagara presented a successful bid to host the 2022 OCAA Golf Championships to be held Oct 3-5 at Legends of Niagara Battlefield golf course. Niagara last hosted the OCAA championships in 2015.

Niagara will also play host to the OCAA Women's Basketball Championship from March 2-5 2023. The 2022-2023 season will mark the return of the traditional championship format after the 2022 season saw a revised format in the form of a final four championship. The Knights last hosted the OCAA women's basketball championship back in 2016.

The Knights were also successful in obtaining the 2023 OCAA Curling Championships that will be held at the Welland Curling Club from February 9-12 2023. 

"We're excited to bring OCAA golf, curling and women's basketball championships to Niagara College next season," said Knights Athletic Director, Michele O'Keefe. "Our Knights programs are on the rise. Hosting the OCAA championships gives our home team and our home crowd a taste of the excitement of a championship competition."

Niagara has had a rich history of hosting OCAA and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) championships that includes the 2019 CCAA Women's Volleyball Championship. From 1990 through 2020, Niagara College has hosted a total of 13 OCAA and four CCAA Championships.
