KRESSLER HEADLINES OCAA WOMEN'S SOFTBALL AWARDS

LONDON, Ont. - St. Clair College's Bryanna Kressler (Saint Marys) is the 2022 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Women's Softball Player of the Year. Kressler received the award in a ceremony held in London, Ont., on Wednesday evening.

Kressler was a duel threat for the undefeated Saints at the plate and from the pitcher's circle. With a bat Kressler had a slash line of .529/.563/1.023 setting a new OCAA single season record with 45 runs scored while also contributing 51 RBI. Kressler's 46 hits included 14 doubles, 10 triples and three home runs. From the rubber the fourth-year player made six starts going 6-0, flowing just one earned run over 34 innings of work for a 0.21 ERA, striking out 48. In addition, Kressler is the OCAA Pitcher of the Year and headlines the OCAA League First-Team All-Stars.

Mckenna Copley (Dover Centre) of St. Clair is the OCAA Rookie of the Year. The right-hander pitched a team-high 55 innings for the Saints, going an impressive 13-0. Copley allowed just seven earned runs for a 0.89 ERA, striking out 50. Copley is also an OCAA League First-Team All-Star.

St. Clair's Doug Wiseman is the OCAA Coach of the Year, leading the Saints to the 2022 regular season championship. St. Clair won all 24 regular season games while scoring 277 total runs to set a new OCAA single season record. Even more impressive was the 20 total runs allowed, less than one per game.

Amy Claydon is the OCAA Batting Champion to complete the St. Clair sweep of major award winners. Claydon's slash line was .600/.621/1.253. The fifth-year first baseman and pitcher also set a new OCAA single season record with 55 RBI. Claydon is also a member of the OCAA League First-Team All-Stars.

Joining Kressler, Copley and Claydon as OCAA League First-Team All-Stars are Durham College's Grace Hearns (Napenee); Fanshawe College's Morgan Lowry (Middlesex Centre) and Kennedi Roth (Stratford); Humber College's Christina D'Angelo (Mississauga) and Alexis Ferreira (Mississauga); and St. Clair's Sierra Baltzer (LaSalle) and Shae-Lyn Murphy (Windsor).

OCAA League Second-Team All-Stars include Conestoga College's Hayley Breen (Rostock); Durham's Natalie Clemens (Marmora), Ryleigh Easton (Bowmanville) and Emily Glendinning (Plattsville); Fanshawe's Marandee Hunter (Chatham), Jenna McLean (Watford) and Madeline Pappas (Richmond Hill); Humber's Jessica MacPherson (Essex); St. Clair's Judy Lafleur (Essex); and Seneca College's River Johnston (North York).
