
Draw 6 of the OCAA Championships was another 6-game draw across all 3 divisions.
Women’s action saw the top two teams, Humber & Fanshawe face off, with Humber scoring a pair in the second end. Fanshawe responded with a single in the third before Humber added another 3 points in the fourth end as they cruised to an 8-2 victory.
In the Men’s division, Confederation took on Mohawk. The Mountaineers notched 2 in the opening end of their matchup. Teams exchanged singles across the next two ends before Mohawk took over and won the match 6-1.
The second men’s matchup featured Fanshawe & Humber, with Humber getting out to a 4-1 lead after the opening three ends. It was smooth sailing from then on out for Humber as they won 7-1.
In Mixed curling, Sault1 and Fleming2 battled hard, with Fleming2 picking up a single in each of the opening two ends. Sault1 would begin to take control of the match with a single in end three, and 2 points in each of ends four, five and six. Sault1 earned 1 more point in the seventh before cruising to an 8-2 victory.
Sault2 and Fanshawe had a high stakes game with each team battling to stay alive. Sault2 would take a single point in each of the first two ends. Fanshawe would manage a single in the fourth end to cut the deficit to 4-1. Sault2 continued how it started and won their game 7-2
The final Mixed Doubles match saw top seeded Humber fall behind early against Mohawk after managing 4 points in the opening end. Mohawk continued their strong play with 3 points in the fourth end, and 3 points in the 5th end. The Mountaineers went on to win their match with a final score of 11-2.
The final draw goes tonight at 6:30PM at the YNCU Curling Centre.
