The Loyalist Lancers made history, capturing their first OCAA medal (bronze) in women's volleyball with a four-set victory over the Durham Lords 20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-19.
Looking to capture a medal for the third straight year, the Lords came out swinging in the first set. The energetic Lords took the opening set behind the dual-attack of Chelsea Oke and Chanel Ethier.
The Lancers responded in the second set and continued to get stronger as the match progressed. The tandem of Allyson Terwillegar (hitting) and Georgi Williams (setting) was too much for the Lords as the Lancers left with the bronze medals.
Sierra Scott was named Player of the Match for the Lancers, finishing with 10 kills and 17 digs. Ethier was named Player of the Match for the Lords following an 11-kill, six-dig performance.
Erika Robertson was named a Championship All-Star for the Lancers and was joined by Amanda Larsen from the Lords.
