GEORGE BROWN ADVANCES TO CONSOLATION FINAL

The George Brown Huskies and the Fleming Knights battled it out to open play at day two of the 2018 OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship presented by belairdirect at the Georgian College Athletic Centre in Barrie.

It was a tight matchup with both teams playing with their season on the line. In the end it was the Huskies who prevailed in four sets winning 3-1 (25-18, 25-21, 25-27, 25-22).

Neon Ng (Toronto) had a big game for the Huskies scoring 16 kills along with three blocks and was named Player of the Game.

"We were pumped," said Ng. "We were excited to come in and try and get a win for the George Brown Huskies."

"We've been able to make it to the OCAA championship before but we really wanted to get a win and we were able to do that today."

The Huskies will now advance to the consolation final which will take place on Saturday at 12 p.m. against the winner of the Conestoga Condors versus Niagara Knights game.

"We haven't seen many of the west teams before so we are excited to play Conestoga or Niagara tomorrow."

Spencer Bieri (Stoney Creek) was named Player of the Game for the Knights with 15 kills, two blocks and an ace.
