BRUINS COMPLETE THREE-GOAL COMEBACK TO ADVANCE TO GOLD MEDAL GAME
TORONTO, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's soccer team completed an incredible comeback to advance to the OCAA Championship, defeating Algonquin 3-2. Trailing the Thunder by two at the half, the Bruins scored three unanswered to get the win and assure themselves a spot in the CCAA National Championship. It will be an all central division final tomorrow afternoon.

Andres Caicedo Sanchez (Ottawa, Ont.) opened the scoring just over 10 minutes in, as the Thunder spent the vast majority of the opening half in Bruins territory.

They would strike again midway through the half, as Joe Khoury (Ottawa, Ont.) raced down the left side of the field and tucked a well-placed finish just inside the post to double up Algonquin's advantage.

Sheridan nearly pulled within one early in the second half, but a tough call had the goal disallowed. The Bruins attack did not let up, and shortly thereafter Cyrus Rollocks (Brampton, Ont.) cut the lead in half on a great touch.

Just minutes later, Rahim Thorpe (Bramton, Ont.) scored the equalizer on an aggressive finish to tie things at two. Already having been carded once before, Thorpe proceeded to kick the corner flag in celebration after the goal - he was given a second yellow and ejected for the antics, leaving the Bruins with only 10 players.

With just under five minutes remaining, Rollocks showed incredible speed to pull ahead of two Thunder defenders, earn a breakaway and bury a perfectly placed ball. The Bruins would hold on for ten more minutes.

The final scored read 3-2, certainly a comeback of the year candidate.

Sheridan will now play Humber in the gold medal match tomorrow at 3pm, while Algonquin will play for the bronze medal at 12pm.
