COMPETITIVE ACTION AT OCAA CURLING CHAMPIONSHIPS

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - After the second day of action at the Community First Curling Centre, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., it has been a tight race for first place in the men's division.

The Fanshawe Falcons, Humber Hawks and the Mohawk Mountaineers are in a bout for first with records of 3-1, 3-1 and 3-2, respectively, while the Niagara Knights and Sault Cougars are in hot pursuit of the top teams. The St. Clair Saints and Fleming Knights are bringing up the tail end.

In the women's division the Fanshawe Falcons and Niagara Knights are in a tight locked fight for first with a record of 3-1. The Humber Hawks and the Fleming Knights both stand at 2-1, while the Mohawk Mountaineers and St. Clair Saints looking to improve on their record.

The Sault Cougars (2-1) and the Fanshawe Falcons (2-2) are in a close battle for first, with the Fleming Knights (1-2) trailing right behind in the mixed division.

These competitive standings will make for an exciting last day of round robin play, as the teams make a final run for the playoff round. Action will continue Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with another full day of OCAA curling, with the semifinal games beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 followed by the championship matches at 12:30 p.m.
